OUTREACH: DART (Dance And Rhythm Training)

During the 1999-2000 season, Concert Ballet began a new program designed to reach 600 at-risk-youth. Called DART, Dance and Rhythm Training, the project offers student ages 11-17 creative activities in schools during high crime hours (4-8 p.m.). In the wake of recent incidents of school violence in the country, Concert Ballet has recognized the need to formulate a program that provides an emotional and physical outlet for students in this targeted age group.
