Historically,
Concert Ballet has been a leader in development of arts education in South
Texas. Early involvement with Young Audiences, a national artist-in-schools
project, led to CCCB sponsorship of AIR, Artist-In-Residencies, for local
schools. The program provides for dance professionals to be placed in
schools throughout the community for two to six week residencies. Such
personalized presentations in informal setting give life to the discipline
and stimulate new interest in dance. Schools which have not had the benefit
of regular exposure to the performing arts are targeted.
